OK, so it’s been what? Six months since I wrote anything here? Sorry about that. At first it was because I had joined the Occupy movement and was focusing my energy on that. Then it was my involvement with the Occupy movement combined with helping my wife find another job. Then it was just inertia born of being away from it too long. Well, my wife has a job (yay! and more on that in a minute), and therefore we are both weening ourselves from the local Occupy. The inertia is still threatening to keep me away from here, so I figured I’d better write something just to prime the pump.
Yay! My wife has found a new job and we have a new church home. This past Sunday she was unanimously (minus 1 abstention…what?) voted the new settled minister of the UU Church of Cheyenne Wyoming.
Hello? Is this thing on?
Yes, I said Wyoming.
I have to admit that Wyoming is not the first place I would’ve picked when asked where I’d like to move to. It’s not even in the top ten.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around Wyoming, but the church is fabulous. And Cheyenne isn’t half bad. And Cheyenne is so close to Colorado that we will enjoy the best of both cultures.
I really think that this church is going to be a good fit for her. It really speaks to her heart and the members seem really great and engaged and understand the value of ministry. After her last ministry knocked her down, she has really picked herself back up, dusted herself off and is back in the saddle again.
Cowgirl up!
Congrats on the move to bigger mountains. I hope the Wild West is a great fit for the Fulsons!
